Presentation title:
Creating diversity within Media Tech – How to train women journalists to write about Tech

Presentation abstract:

Women in Tech and Women Empowerment are becoming more vital cultural and societal institutions in everyday life. We have women who code, women in Web3 communities, women who empower women and many more. A woman can have many self versions, she can be a career chaser, a mum, a wife, a single woman but she still is a single entity and needs to be acknowledged within the Technology sector.

As an Editor in Chief of 4i-Magazine, I want to empower women to learn more about Web3 communities and cybersecurity and why not run their own Tech magazine or a Tech Start-up one day. We need more female journalists who specialise in technology, and as Web3 is one of the rising stars, we need them to learn more and start investigating, writing about it and having their opinion heard. The media sector lacks women with concrete technology backgrounds; one cause is that many companies do not offer the same jobs, salaries, and benefits as they would offer to men. As a result, most of the journalists who are experts in this area are men.
